3rd Ave North

This is 3rd Ave. across from the library and Civic Center. Notice the 3rd Ave. sign and the stop light. It gives you a feeling of how high the dike is and they are still working to maintain the dike.

Main Ave. Veterans Memorial Bridge 2

This a bench at the beginning of the bridge. The river is slowly flowing over the edge and down the wall and bench.

Main Ave. Veterans Memorial Bridge

Today we took a drive since the river has crested.... but not official. It is 39.99 YIPPPPEEEEEE! Celebration needed.

Fargo Dome on Thursday

This is a picture of the Dome on Thursday. We were able to make sandbags and deliver due to the nicer weather. The weather has become colder and the sandbags need to stay inside until needed. Which is the other picture of the sea of sandbags.

Homes on Elm

This is the backside of the homes we tried to save. The sandbags are at 42 feet trying to move to 43 and the water was so close you could stand on the top of the dike and dip your toe into the river. Very quite and uncalming.

Elm Street

This is a picture of Brett, Christian and my friend Traci. We tried to assist the homes on the right, they are on the wrong side of the dike and needed help sandbagging on the backside of their homes. When we left these homes they were losing the battle. We have not found out if the homes are o.k. yet.

Fargo Dome

This is a picture this afternoon of the Dome. The Dome is 1/2 full of sandbags. We have topped the amount of bags to 3 million bags filled in 5 days. WAY TO GO FARGO.

Fargo Flood 2009

Hi everyone- I have a moment until the next sandbagging tonight.

This is a picture of Oxbow on Wednesday night around 6 pm. Christian and I assisted in sandbagging. The streets were flooded already and the homes were in extreme danger. You would not believe how Christian stepped up and even though he was tired and cold continued to work into the night. He has not once said I can't and has assisted us in the fight everday this week. No questions or complaints and he gets up and puts on his old clothes and we head out the door.
Thanks for all your prayers and concerns. We are currently fine but are awaiting the crest and the long wait until the crest will be over...which is not projected 4-8 days at a level of 42-43 feet.

Last Tournament for the Year!

For the last tournament Christian wanted his hair shaved and then have his number shaved into the back of his head. They lost the first two games but then pulled out the last game in overtime and won. We will see what next year brings. We may move on to swimming matches or tennis matches. (Sidebar- Eric I love my new lens but I need help using it properly).
