Spartan Gold Won 2nd Place Again!!!!!!

We attended a Fargo Tournament this past weekend at Oak Grove. Christian's team started the tournament by losing the first game. Then the second game was good and they won! This took us to the second day (Sunday, January 27,2008) they had a game very early morning (8:00am)and won and the second game was not as tough and slid through nicely. These games brought them to the Championship Game. By the afternoon the kids were tired and ready for the tournament to end, but they still had another game and it was a big game. With a strong team in play the team did very well but ended up losing. Second place is a great trophy and they all should be proud. I know the parents are very proud along with the coaches. This Picture is of the team right after the game and I forgot the camera in the car and had to run and run back so I did not know if it focused because all my oxygen was out of my body left in the back seat of the car. I clearly need to do more exercise then what I already do, so I increased the exercise today and now I am walking 15-20 minutes 2 to 3 times a day. I hope this helps the next time I have to run a marathon. (Eric don't cretique until you give me a lesson in April :)

Same with this one. Shoot as fast as you can and then increase the brightness in Photoshop. Not bad. Pro use a 400mm or 500mm IS L f1.8. It's about $7,000 for the lens.
Also, make sure all filters are off the lens. They add 2 stops or more.

Wanda, this one was shot, of course, inside the dome. It's very dark in there so I increased my ISO to 1600 and was was shoting wide open at f5.6 and slightly under 1/250 and 1/300 shutter speed. My focal length was 400mm. But with the image stablization I get 2 to 3 stops more. The bad thing is if you try to enlarge this to an 8X10 you will see noise do the the high ISO of 1600. There is a light blur but no bad. I also up the brightness in Photoshop by about 2 stops.

Craig needs to get a life

Here is a young boy who needs to give a life. Call his phone and you heat the cantenna song from Star Wars. Craig you are beyond the 5th grade and need to update to Crank Dat or Get the Buck out of Here songs and join the rest of the adults.

Jamie and Eric need to get jobs.

Must be nice to be you two and not have to work during the day. To be on the blog as often as you are I wish I had your jobs. Just sit there and be on the computer all day surfing the web, while I am working on snow and iced cover roads helping peoples lives.

Yo, Brett.

The photo of Christian needs improvement. When you are shoting indoors and fast action you need to increase you iso and take all your filters off. Otherwise, you get the exact photo you have on the blog. BLURRRRYYYYY Also, see if you can change the white balance to compensate for the lighting. I.E. set the white balance for Florencent lighting (found in most gyms) and you get a nice pic. Because Boy...you suck.

By the way. What is with the "electric glow of sex" lamp? Is it in the middle of the window at the house?

Here's the last one. Shot on the deck of the USS Yorktown. I love the reflection off the rotor. This one was shot at f22 for 25 sec.
I have about 5 on the Nikon Mentor Series Web site. Go to http://popphoto.bitshelter.com/login at click on the past treks. You don't have to login. Then in the 2007 click on the Charleston link.

Here was one at Helen, GA. I humped 30 pounds of gear. This is Anna Ruby Falls shot with a 30D with a 100-400mm L zoom at F22 at 4 sec.

Two. This was shot at about 4 secs using a Canon 30D with a 16-35mm L at f11 I think.

Hey,

I've joined a photo club in Columbia. Next month I'm going to show four (4) photos for critique. Here are the 4. Well one so far.
I shot this one at F32 at 1.5 sec exposure.

Work and big Corporation

Many know that I work for a drug company. One of the things I do is ask docs to prescribe my branded drug, who for a person with insurance might range from 20 to 50 dollars as compared to generic. Now my company wants us to use generic to save money. So, in one breath they want me to have docs prescribe branded drugs while they only want us to use generic. I know company's are in business to make money, but it seems crazy to say one thing and expect us to do another.
Hi, Y'al,

Eric, where are your pictures? Think I will try to put in some pics of our backyard. But I will need help. I know, I know. You all think I need help! I need "techie" help, not "psychie" help. At least not today............. Hope you are all staying warm. This is just nasty!!

Hoorah for Friday.

Love, Mom

Valley City Basketball Tournament

Well another Monday and another week of work.
We were in Valley City on Saturday for a Basketball Tournament. Christian is in Spartan Ball and they played in a tournament. Three games, 2 losses and 1 win. The win was a "Big" one to the boys and the coaches. Practice will be tough on Tuesday. Mom and Dad joined us for two of the games before they went off to Loney's for a supper party. We also met up with my sister and her kids to watch the boys play some creative ball.

END OF WEEK

It is the end of the week and I am very excited. This was a very long week but a very inspirational week. My mom is doing very well and I think she is in recovery which is good and maybe no cancer. Let's keep her in our prayers.

On a happy note, I think Brett and I are addicted to the Wii game system. :) We are kind of competitive and it is fun with exercise involvement. Have a great FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTDAY LINDA---- We won't discuss age but we will say that wine does age very well and so do you. :)

I hope you had a great birthday. As for us we have been upto not much except digging out of Christmas decorations. Brett had a bug and went to town this weekend but the house is back together. I can't say the outside has been touched but maybe when the snow melts.

We were at NDSU Men's Basketball on Saturday night. We lost by 2 POINTS at last seconds of the game. Fun game, fun to see instead of Mayville State.

Well I hope all are well and getting back to schedule. Send me some emails of pictures or what is going on with you all lateley and I will add it to The Nilles Report.
Pictured Mom getting her heritage cookbook. It was fun to create and hopefully we can print more and send them out to everyone.

Bye for now. Wanda

Day One: Creation Day by Wanda Nilles

Hello all Nilles descendants. Today is the first day of "The Nilles report". Hopefully "We" all will be able to add great things to this blog.

Happy 2008, can you believe 2007 is over and we have started 2008. Gifts have been opened and put away or in our household all games have been played to death and back to school and work. Thank You to all who thought of us for the holidays. We enjoyed all the Christmas cards and gifts.

I had a small conversation with Jamie over the holidays and expressed my want for a place that we can go visit where it feels like home and we can all stay in touch even when we are sooooo.....far away from each other. I truly enjoy getting together and seeing everyone when it is possible but I hate not being able to keep in touch during the long times away.

I hope all will send me great pictures and updates so we can all keep in touch. Send me anything even day to day activities. Just remember that I am not a writer and never desired to be a writer but love to be with family. This is an inspiration for our growing family.
Happy New Year from Fargo and West Fargo weirdo's, except Christian since he doesn't have our Nilles humor.
